"Life in process, a work in progress."
Parent counseling focuses on family dynamics, communication, and the emotional issues that impact parenting. It helps parents manage stress, improve relationships with their children, and resolve conflicts within the family. It may involve strategies for addressing behavioral issues in children but always with lens of supporting the parent’s wellbeing so they can better support their children’s.
As parent counselor I aim to offer parents a safe space to reflect on their experiences, feelings, beliefs and behaviors within the context of their parenting role. I offer insight and tools to manage parenting stress, improve emotional connections, and help with relational difficulties between parents and their children.
Common issues addressed are:
Parenting stress or burnout
Emotional difficulties related to parenting (such as guilt, anger, or frustration)
Parent-child and siblings’ conflict or communication issues
Understanding and managing children’s behavioral issues
Co-parenting challenges or relationship struggles impacting parenting
